The last show I am seeing this year needs merch help. I'm seeing them three times in October, it's the last show, so we'll have seen them twice already and we'd be able to hear the show, but we don't want to work it, if it isn't really worth it
. Are there any perks?

I think it can be a lot of fun, especially talking to people who aren't that familiar with the band cause you can totally talk them up & advise them on which CD(s) they should buy. If the merch area is separate from the stage area of the venue it can kinda suck because you can't really see the show, but not a lot of people buy merch DURING the show so you can always go stand in the doorway between the two areas or something... & you would definitely be able to still HEAR the show =) & you get in free, so that's always a perk

Hmmm. We already bought the tickets :\.
Not that that really matters, but...I guess I'll have to think about it!

if you're already seeing 2 shows up front- i would say you should sell merch for the last one. the guys really appreciate it and jess is great. the last couple shows i went to, i've sold merch with my friend Sara but this tour we're taking a break and are gonna get up front for all of them.
but then again, if you care more about seeing every second of the show, maybe you should pass. it CAN get crazy at the table depending on the size of the crowd and you don't want to be disappointed.

i've worked merch twice - including one that jessica wasn't at where we actually talked boots into moving the table closer to the room, so we could see the show...it all depends on the venue and the size of the crowd, but working merch is really fun!

I agree with everything that has been said. I just finished selling merch last week and it was a blast. You get to enjoy the show in an entirely different way. Plus, you get the excitement of meeting people who are learning about the band for the first time and giving them suggestions for Cd's and shirts. But I would say that you need to have a mix of merch and front row experience. We were only going to do merch and then we ended up adding 2 shows so that we could get the full experience this week and it made us appreciate it even more. You realize how amazing Jessica is at her job. She has so much to do and any help you can give her is so worth it.

i went to stubb's the other day, and saw the way they set up the merch. it's in another room. i guess now i just might need to make the trek to house of blues...

i've been listening to the sixers for such a long time and i've seen enough shows to where i almost prefer to sell merch because i can get a feel of what it takes to make the show go smoothly. jessica is great to work with because she's so organized, and it's definitely a great thing to help the guys out where they really need it. i love being able to make sound recommendations to new fans and also answer any questions people have about the band in general. you also get to talk to people that have the same taste in music as you... i tend to see a lot of matt nathanson shirts at the shows, and it's always great to chat with the people that wear them.
