okay, so, i really really really miss new york city. i went there about 2 years ago and i want to go back... may as well go for a sixers show, right?

so, should i go for the weekend of the nov 27 show, and only stay the weekend because i have to work at a job i'm starting in a week and already need time off for TRB in january and am taking an unpaid trip in september that was already planned. so friday night-sunday night. short trip. surely worth it though.

or, should i wait and go to the NYE show in CT and stay in nyc for a little longer? i get dec 25 til jan 3 off, so i could probably go from december 27 til jan 2. i'd loveeee to see nyc at xmas time, for the record. the big christmas tree, you know. i don't think that goes up by november 27?

honestly, the bowery show was my first instinct, but at second thought, the NYE show makes more sense.

but, at the same time... then i'd be gone from dec 24-26 with family, probably directly from there (it's in a town just north of north dakota, so i'd leave from there likely) to nyc, and then come home for a day and then leave for TRB on the 4th. too much? :p

the nov 27 weekend trip would be a lot cheaper, too, and despite just getting a new job and making a lot more money... i still want to save lots.

i don't know what to do but i want to do one of them! 8)

NYC during Thanksgiving weekend is decorated for Christmas. Maybe not entirely, but the Macy's window displays are up and things like that. The tree goes up Thanksgiving weekend but isn't lit until after the holiday.

    damn.

i don't think i'm going to be making any decision until last minute, but we'll see. :( i don't knowwwww. NYE would be so fun, but so much time away from home and my sister will likely be home (she lives in London..lol) and i'm already missing her coming home for a wedding in September (...because I'll be in California, seeing the Sixers).

I'm going on a longer week trip in Sept and January so I almost think a weekend trip is much more reasonable. I dont know. I want to ring in the new year with the Sixers, though! What a great way to celebrate. :(

That is a tough decision! I try to make one big trip a year that involves the Sixers. Even if they don't do NYE 2012, you KNOW they'll have other awesome opportunities to see them! :)

i kinda feel like i'd be too stressed out if i tried to go on a NYE trip and then got home on (likely) jan 2 and had to leave for trb on jan 4. i don't like stress, lol, and definitely not before i'm going away. :(

the bowery show would probably be fun, but why is there only one of them this year and not two? HM?

i shouldn't even be going to any, i really need to buy a car this fall, haha. and i did already see the sixers on trb this year and will be seeing them twice in september. ugh.

I was wondering that about Bowery too. I'm actually kind of glad it's only one night because I'm not able to go this year D: It was a lot of fun last year, not just with them but with Carbon Leaf too. SK hinted that it might be Alternate Routes with them this year and I don't think I can handle missing that! Hopefully it'll be someone I don't like :P .

I know what you mean. I've seen them twice this year and will be seeing them 3 times in a week in October and still want to go to more but I need to save money for a car, haha.

I'm sure next year they'll do even more awesome stuff. I REALLY wanted to go to the album shows but money wouldn't allow it :( .

no i'm only doing the southern cali shows because that's all money would allow at the time...

and thank god because i just got a new job and i feel bad enough taking off a week from work (unpaid), let alone a week and a half, lol. i'm going to some hanson shows that week, too, so 4 of each was too much, but 2 sk6ers and 4 hanson will suffice!

and the alternate routes opening nov 27?! WHAT?

crap. doesn't make the decision easier. i feel like nov 27 will win out just because going on a trip right after xmas before trb is so not ideal. but either way, it will still be last minute and it really depends on if i buy a car this fall or not, haha.
