What a fantastic end to a month spent with the sixers.
Friday night was great because I got to catch up with my college roommates and met some great new people while enjoying a fantastic show.
Pat brought up a guy on sax (i forget his name) and Eric Kertes (i know him from playing in Josh Kelley's band) and they played a kickass version of Passion.
As for the sixers set, I know they played Guitar & Tambourine but that's about all I remember of the setlist (and of the night haha). I was clearly intoxicated but i tried my hardest to keep myself under control, stick towards the back, and not ruin it for anyone else (because i know how much that sucks) and I think i did a fine job. But it did seem to me like everyone around me was wasted as well...guess we all just wanted to celebrate SK's birthday.
I just want to say that we were standing behind some girls and the people in front of them left and they turned around and asked us if we wanted to go in front of them because we were shorter. that was probably the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me at a show. THANK YOU!
Saturday, Pat had Erik with him again. They did a sweet version of "Something" by The Beatles and played Passion again by request. I really love that Pat hasn't made any setlists for this tour and just goes with whatever people want to hear. It makes it fun.
I do remember most of what was played Saturday...Blue Jean, Cabin in the Woods, My Sweet Charade, the best version of Hearts in Pain i've ever heard them play (with SK's friend on guitar), Wagon Wheel, Blackbird, Maria...and the usuals. I was really hoping to hear something from One Night in Brooklyn...but no such luck.
Boots' vocals sounded AMAZING. Kit made me uncomfortable again with his near-nakedness. It was great to turn around from the front and hear everyone singing along. I hope SK enjoyed his birthday at the Bowery...I know I did.
Now I will go through withdrawals until December 26th. Eek.
