It was great. I was glad to hear a lot of older stuff and not too much Bear, and the encore with Carbon Leaf was fun. SK had a potted chrysanthemum hanging from his guitar.
They played Milwaukee with a long improvised section in the middle, and SK talked about how he worked at the Somerville Theater and got to introduce a show for the first time almost exactly 10 years ago. You could tell that he was really excited to be playing there.
SK got into a long conversation with a girl who was requesting a song in the middle of the show. I was right behind them but I couldn't hear which song she was asking for, that SK was so not up to playing. Anyone know?
Lastly, they announced that they'll be playing a special show in Boston in April to commemorate the band's 1,000th show.

Overall I think it was a good show. CL and SK have similar sounds so it flowed really well. I really liked the interactions between the two bands.
That girl made such a fool of herself. From what I could hear from the 2nd row, she had emailed SK and asked him to play a certain song. When he was tuning his guitar before 'Satisfied Man', everyone started yelling songs to him. During this point the girl in front started making comments about how he 'promised' etc. At the end of the song he called her over to say sorry. That whole interaction was like, 5 min! Who does that!?! Anyway, I think she wanted him to play 'such a way' but he couldnt because of time constraints.
LOVED ramlin man. Really like the new guitar player. It is nice to have a fuller sound again and the slide guitar is just so cool. I am so excited for April. Where do you think the show will be?
Here are my pics. I have two videos i need to upload (songs from Days and part of Ramblin Man).

As a side note, I am slightly dissapointed in my fellow Boston concert goers. SK has had to stop the show every time in Boston for the last 2 years at Paradise for rudeness. It is so frusterating hearing people talk loundly during songs and not respect there fellow fans. I think we might start going to VT or Western Mass from now on.
But overall, fun night. Did anyone record?

I don't think they've nailed down a place for the April show yet. They really seemed to like the Somerville Theater though! House of Blues might be another good possibility.
I thought the crowd was great, though I was in the second row. Some of my worst experiences in terms of crowd rudeness have been at Iron Horse and Higher Ground, so I don't think you're better off there.

Goof to know, thanks
I was also thinking maybe Roxy again for the April show? Its bigger than Paradise right?
Though I loved the ST, you can't really rock out as a fan. I hope it will be another GA location.Posted 2 years ago on October 16, 2009 LINK
