And if I may make a request -- anyone have a good version of Blackbird? I downloaded 2005.02.17 from Archive, but there's a lot of crowd noise, highlighted by a girl who's very keen on hearing #41.

Thanks so much for Jack and Diane. In Indiana, it's practically a prerequisite when getting your license to know all of the words to "Jack and Diane" and be able to do the percussion part of "R.O.C.K in the USA" on your steering wheel. We don't have many celebrities from Indiana, so Mellencamp is treated like the Beckhams around here!

Actually Jon McLaughlin and I are from the same town (Anderson)--it's not like he's my neighbor or anything, but everyone knows everyone where we come from. Anyway though, I love the new Indiana album! It was the best line-up ever for me when Jon opened for SK6ERS and Matt Wertz this spring.
Anderson can actually be a pretty star-studded town if you're into B-Listers--the actors Rob Lowe and Chad Lowe's father lives in Anderson, so when their grandmother passed away this year, everyone was on the look-out for them. The lead singer from the Ataris is from Anderson and they filmed their video for The Saddest Song here. Gospel singer Sandi Patty lives here and has forever. Former Dodgers player Carl Erskine lives here with his family and he works at the bank in downtown Anderson. If anyone remembers the Krystal Harris song "SuperGirl" from Princess Diaries, she's from Anderson and is friends with my husband. No one nearly as fantastic as Jon, but Anderson gets excited about it nonetheless...
Regardless, I'm sure that Jon will turn out to be the biggest thing for/from Anderson.
