What's everyone think of Easy Tiger? I don't think its his greatest CD ever, but I think "Two" from the album is one of his best songs. I also cannot get "Halloweenhead" out of my head.

Anyone seeing him live soon? I'll be in Minneapolis to see him for the first time (after a few attempts :x )

i agree, it's pretty good, definitely not the best. i'd love to see him again nowadays. when i saw him at the paradise, i was expecting to hear stuff from gold but it was during his rock 'n rolltour and it wasn't very good at all :/

I'm afraid to see him live, after his last Philly, uh, tantrum.

But Easy Tiger is alright. I like Halloweenhead, Oh My God, Whatever, Etc., and Two best.

since he's cleaned up, i've heard his live shows have not only gotten better, but are pretty much amazing. i wish i could see him in houston.

i havent heard easy tiger, but i LOVE two. even when he's writing "crap" it's still better than half the stuff other people write. i love him.

I'm excited to see him next month. I've seen him twice. Once he was moody and not so good, the other, he was very high (and needless to say, in an excellent mood) but I think a third of his hour set (at Lollapalooza) was Greatful Dead covers...

I've never seen him, but I'll be in Toronto next month for the Massey Hall show. I can't stop listening to Easy Tiger...Gold is still my favorite of his albums, but ET is just so addicting. I can't wait for the show!

i'm slightly obsessed with halloweenhead. and it's not the type of song i'd usually get into...there's just something about it.

and i've heard Two on a local college radio station several times....along with nathanson's car crash :D i get pretty pumped. the station plays nuclear a lot too

and...is the chicago theatre show sold out yet? if not, i need to get a ticket pronto. i've only been there once and it was a horrible experience, but i'm willing to try it again for ryan adams. the st. louis show is sold out already, i'm shocked. STL isn't really a ryan adams sort of town.

I feel the SAME way about Halloweenhead, Laura. Definitely not something I would usually like, but I LOVE it.

I would guess the Chicago show is sold out. I'm not 100% though. The last time I tried to see him in Chicago, it was sold out before I could type in the confirmation code (which I think also happened to the other Laura). Good luck though!

I saw him in Toronto on Friday, and it was such an amazing show...he didn't play "Halloweenhead," which was a little disappointing (he didn't play a lot from ET, though--just "Goodnight Rose" and "Tears of Gold," I think), but he did play "Oh My Sweet Carolina," "23rd and First," and "Wildflowers," all of which kicked ass. And there was some very witty banter about cavemen in the audience. He was great. Have fun Thursday, guys!

OK so the St. Louis show sold out long before I got a ticket...and I wasn't too upset about this because I wasn't sure if I'd be in St.Louis the night he was playing anyway. Well, now I know I will be and I'm heartbroken that I can't go...

I've been keeping an eye on craigslist but tickets are hard to come by. Does Ryan Adams have an official message board? I'm finding his site incredibly hard to navigate...which is why I've avoided it in the past. Boooooo I'm discouraged.

You can try here Laura- http://ryanadamsarchive.com/

But don't pay too much. He might decide to be a diva and only play for like 60 minutes max because of technical difficulties or some crap. It sounded fine to me...until he stopped!

EDIT: Apparently CNN thinks the event was front-webpage worthy: http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/28/people.ryanadams.ap/index.html

Based on my experience, I think it's more newsworthy when he doesn't have a meltdown.

I saw him in Chicago 9/29 and Indy 10/24, both amazing shows. The Indy show was sooooo sweet; the Cards were very much channelling the Dead. It was nearly 3 1/2 hours of jams. Even Pearls on a String was jammed out. Also, I met the band in Chicago, all very sweet and gracious men. You can check out the Indy show here http://www.archive.org/details/ryanadams2007-10-24..flac16
and if you listen real close you can hear me scream before Neal Casal starts singing Freeway to the Canyon. love it.
    Enjoy!

Oh, I totally went out and got the EP THE day it came out. I'm pretty much in love with the whole thing...can't WAIT for the boxed set to come out.

So funny story, when I saw SK6 last friday in Indy, I was talking to Kit about ryan's sobriety. he seemed to think the whole thing was a sham, in fact he told me that he would pay me a million dollars if ryan truly was sober. I'm still waiting on the first installment.

Has anyone listened to any of Neal Casal's (ryan's back-up vocals/guitar guy) solo stuff? he's pretty amazing...I highly reccomend Fade Away Diamond Time or No Wish To Reminisce

I pretty much love Neal Casal. He's so great...it's a shame that he's kind of in Ryan's shadow. I have heard that future albums are going to be less "Ryan Adams" and more "The Cardinals," though, and that Neal and Ryan will split singing and songwriting duties. Neal sang "Freeway to the Canyon" when I saw them in September, and I seriously can't quit listening to that song.

    From ryanadamsarchive.com 11/06/07
    Ryan writes:

    "THE CARDINALS and RYAN ADAMS
as far as I know, The Cardinals will be working on our new record in Paris, France just as soon as our west coast tour wraps.
It will be, as of right now, called THE CARDINALS III/IV.
it will contain songs by the Cardinals BUT I will be happy to reveal the vocal duties of songs, and the balance, will be between Neal and myself on this new record. That may be a long player, i dunno. As it stands III/ IV (alpha/omega) will reflect the Cardinals you hear live, during those two set nights. Only there will be songs of Neals now and some of mine But we write together and what we dont write together goes through such tough arrangement decisions and re-direction that I think we can all agree and the band certainly do, they are CARDINALS tunes and that is how that is. So YAY. fuck yeah. TWO vocalists."

I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself!!! Also, he said there's a new website in the works as well...2008 should be a good year for the Cardinals!!!

Has everyone listened to the 48 Hours sessions? Apparently I had downloaded it a while ago and not listened to it, but I found it today...absolutely heartbreaking vocals. highly recommend it. If anyone's interested, I can upload it. Cheers!
