I feel like...we had a thread on the old boards about this. I could be mixing it up with other band boards.

But anyway. My iPod is on the fritz right now so I've been riding the train to and from work without music...which can be painful. Last night I had to listen to a terrible conversation a girl was having on her cellphone.

Well THIS MORNING, I was sitting next to a guy and I could hear his iPod music playing...and it was crappy tune after crappy tune until ANTHEM started playing! I peed myself a little with excitement, and when I heard the song end I gestured at him and I'm like "That's my favorite band! I was listening, haha." And...he barely cracked a smile and didn't say anything.

So clearly he wasn't a real fan because a real Sixers fan would have been excited to meet another....but whatever, it was pretty cool to hear them coming out of someone else's iPod.

I hadn't talked to this girl for a long time but we are facebook friends. I put a sixers lyric as my status and she commented that she loved that song (it happened to be Start the Day Early)... I now officially am glad i am her facebook friend.

I met Nicole (does she post here?) randomly at the MCA in Chicago. She was like "Are you Megan Baker?" and I was like "yeah.....?" and then my dad thought I was famous.
And this girl I used to go to school with's cousin likes the Sixers.

You'd be surprised how many people have at least heard of the Sixers.

I met a Sixers fan in Israel. (He was from New Yawk though if it matters)
And there's one in my psych class (nice kid, too!)

I have this one cousin who's a big Republican lobbyist white version of Carlton, and I discovered one day that he's a huge Sixers fan. And he's seen a TON of random great people like Matt Nathanson.

i used to work in a sleep lab and i had to sit Constant Routine with this guy for 4 hours. (yes, it's torture...)
but anyway - we got talking about our favorite bands and stuff and i of course told him the sixers were my favorite and he not only knew who they were and liked their music BUT his roommate filmed a music video for them....this was back in '03/'04 and i can't remember which video it was but still. i thought that was pretty cool!

and my brother said he heard Anthem blaring from a girl's car one day near our old high school in RI.

I haven't yet randomly run into any Sixers fans in Oregon yet (but I moved to a super small town, so....)... but I'm converting people left & right ;-)

Nicole posted on the old boards very occasionally, but I don't think she has been on the new ones.

Once in English class senior year, my not-very-close friend played 'Such a Way' and said he wrote it. Apparently he did not pay attention any time I gushed about them. It was a stupid thing to do with me in the room.

I was once at Noah's Ark (huge waterpark in Wisconsin) while working for a YMCA summer camp. I was walking with my camp kids and spotted a guy playing mini golf a little ways away from us wearing a brown "Greetings From SK6ers" shirt. I was trying to wave him down while all my kids thought I was insane and had no idea what I was doing. I didn't manage to get his attention, though.

i get really excited when i tell people to listen to them and they're like "yeah i know who they are..."

i ask them if they're serious a few times, and then tell them they're my new favorite person because they like good music.

man, you have low standards when it comes to selecting your favorite people.

people who don't like my band don't get to hang out with me.
    so, i'm with you sarah.
