i did almost miss my flight, but i ended up making it just in time for pat's set.
i have to say, i wasn't impressed with the setlist. this was my least favorite show of the entire year, which is sad because the venue was great and it was a sold out show. the crowd was rude and it was pissing stephen off. but towards the end of the show, it got much better....maybe due to the alcohol? hah. "i want to rock & roll all night" is hilarious. boots really cracks me up during that one.did it bother anyone else that SK didn't wear shoes when he went into the crowd for the last encore??
and why am i ALWAYS right in front of Kit when he gets naked?? it makes me so uncomfortable! hahaBritt- it was great to finally meet you! keep working on wooing me for NYE. haha

Fun show...not my favorite either, but I had a really good time.
The crowd was pissing me off a lot too.Elise...you loved Kit's nakedness. I saw the look on your face, don't deny it! haha! It was great to meet you too...You can't resist the chance to hang out with me and Stacie again on NYE! DOOOOOOOOOO IT!!

ya...kinda a weak set...

While I had lots of fun, I must agree with you all - not my favorite Sixers show. The sell out was great, but it seemed like half the crowd was drunk and/or talking during the ENTIRE set.

I would actually probably put this show in my top ten list of favorites. I thought the setlist was great. (I just about died when they opened with "Seven Bridges Road", and sang all of my favorite covers.) I didn't really notice any drunk crazies on Kit's side of the stage, but I was too into the show to notice much. I did have that problem in Northampton, though, so I can see where you guys are coming from... That didn't feel like your typical Sixers show. Too many drunks and annoying fans at that one.

Oh, good point Chrissy! Seven Bridges Road was a neat opener.
We were in the back (by choice), right above the landing steps on Boots' side, and Jess looked ready to strangle one or more of the drunk fans every time I saw her, LOL.

although some of the crowd was definitely annoying, it was about a 500% improvement over the last show I was at (Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland in October) where about 90% of the crowd was drunk and/or not paying attention...

From the mezzanine, I couldn't really hear how loud it was downstairs. What I COULD hear was one guy in the mezzanine yelling like an idiot between every song, and the wait staff in the mezzanine having a good time chatting and laughing with one another during Satisfied Man. It was ironic because the guy yelling between songs was one of the ones who turned around and gave a big "Shhhhhhhh" to the wait staff during Satisfied Man. You can't have it both ways, buddy.
Regarding the Cleveland show -- again, I was in the back recording by the soundboard, but from the back the bulk of the crowd seemed overwhelmingly respectful. From my vantage point I couldn't see the guy who pissed Stephen off (but I could hear him), and I couldn't hear the girls laughing up front. But the half of the crowd that I could observe was behaving well.
I have to admit that I loved it when Stephen barked at the people in Cleveland for not respecting the experience of the rest of the crowd. But after seeing him do it again (to a lesser degree) in Philly, I wonder how worthwhile it is. As a non-drinker, I hate listening to the drunk idiots at shows as much as everybody else, but if you're going to play to a crowd in a liquor-serving establishment, I don't know why he expects what he seems to expect.

I love when Stephen yells at the crowd. I understand that people are going to drink and have a good time...but if you're going to talk during the songs, why not just go to a bar instead of paying to see a concert? I always want to turn around and yell at people who are being obnoxious, but from the audience, you don't have the power to have any effect on people...but from stage, Stephen does! I appreciate him saying what I wish I could. I almost feel like he's standing up for the people who are in the audience trying to listen to him but can't hear over someone being rude.
Casey - were you the first one sitting on the stairs on friday who had a newbie with her? if so, i was one of the girls right behind you.

yep, that was me...it was nice meeting you!

By the way... Stephen mentioned a couple times that they were recording the show. Does anyone know why/what for? I completely forgot to ask him.

Jessica said they were recording Philly and Albany for a possible CD release (emphasis on possible -- many more shows are multi-track recorded than ever actually get released). I hope this one makes it, though, because the venue refused to let me record since the band was having it recorded. Even though Jessica said it was still okay with the band, the venue stepped in and declared a no-taping policy for the evening, even though I had called them the week before to let them know I was driving in from Cleveland for the sole purpose of taping the show. Nice of them to spring that on me AFTER selling me a ticket.

Oh, that reminds me..., Stephen said onstage that they're set to begin recording American Standard (or whatever the album ends up named) on December 14th!

nice meeting you too, casey! I wish I would've realized that was you before now! haha

I hate people who act brainless at shows. I love when SK calls them out, but damn, have some respect for the people around you---and if not for them, then for the band you're paying to see...

The drunk people around me were annoying during Pat McGee. But they were fine during the show; although the guys dancing and singing were pretty funny. They weren't annoying me but I can see how they were to the people that they were elbowing.
