    I have to recommend the best DC band...and one of my absolute favorites, Honor By August.
    They're going to be HUGE one day.

    Not necessarily new (they're releasing their third album in the fall), but I've really been digging the Trews lately. They're really great, and they tour about as much as the Sixers, so I would highly recommend checking them out if they're in your city!

    how about tyler hilton, atigone rising, rufus wainwright, tristan prettyman. and i'm glad someone mentioned tony lucca. he's pretty good live. his new stuff has got some folk influence in it, so i'm liking that quite a bit.

    and speaking of tyler hilton, i really love his version of john waite's missing you. it's such a good song and he really rocks on it. phil stacey sang it on american idol this past season too and i was upset that they didn't have him do a studio version of it. brooks & dunn have their own version too, but my favorite right now is alison krauss' duet with john waite. here it is if anyone wants to check it out:

    "Drowning Out The Television" is their first and only cd as Honor By August. There have been two different versions of it released, with the only difference being that there are more songs on the 2nd version (Into The Light, Good Enough, and some remixes).
    They have an older album called "Overlooking Virginia" which was recorded under the band name MP2, if you're looking for more of their stuff. "Drowning" is like a million times better though.
    I have a lot of acoustic and live stuff from them too if you want to hear any of that, I'd be happy to pass it along.
    ah long post, I'm just happy to hear that someone else likes Honor By August.

    I also love Tyler Hilton's cover of "Missing You"
