This quote is pulled from Shank Hall (Milwaukee)'s website description of the band, located at http://www.shankhall.com/cgi-bin/schedule/calendar.pl?popup=1&template=event_detail.html&event_id=839

"With a full North American tour lined up for the fall and the release of American Standard at the start of 2009, the future of Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers looks brighter than ever."

I'm obviously new to the board, but not the band. New CD already? Anyone else know anything?

Oh and I'll also put in a plug for the fact that I need to sell 2 tickets to that concert because I can't go and bought tix already.

Yeah, it was mentioned in a recent newsletter they sent out. Something along the lines that they will be starting to record after the tour. Of course we won't see it til way after they are done recording it, so I wouldn't say we will have a new album "soon," but I love that they don't waste too much time between recording albums. One of the hardest working bands out there...I swear!!

Edit: Ok, so I just read that more closely, I have no idea what "American Standard" is. But I can assume its a mistake or something, since in the newsletter they said they were starting to record it....not that it was done.

Could be possible they have a name for it already, don't you think?

If that's the new album's title, I think it is a great one.

However, I'm really not too terribly excited about this (YET!), just because I know that the release date will probably get pushed around for 6 months like GJB. Since they're in the pre-production phase of recording this, I don't want to get too excited too quickly! :D That being said, yaay for new albums!

American Standard is what the album is called (currently). Stephen mentioned it at the 4th of July show.

i know wagon wheel is a cover so it would never go on an album, but i would LOVE to hear a studio recording since they do such a great job with it. or does one already exist? i've been away from these boards too long.

At the 4th of July gig, I overheard Stephen telling a fan about "Lonely In Columbus", and I believe he said that he does want it on the new album.

that's a pretty sweet album name... & yeah, by the time they actually finish the tour, get it recorded & put it out, it'll be like two years since GJB. it came out a year ago, after all :)

I talked to Stephen last night and he said that they're going to start recording in December after the tour and it'll hopefully be out in the spring. He said they're going to spend a lot more time on it than they did on Glassjaw Boxer.
Oh and the little packet/pamphlet things that they are handing out at the concerts has the lyrics for Satisfied Man in them and says (A song from the definitive SK6ERS album coming 2009) :)
They seem to be really excited about it!
