Does sk6ers have a song called Money Isn't Love? I thought I had it on my RealPlayer but I can't find it now! It's stuck in my head! Does anyone have a copy they could post?

Thanks for posting that. I love it when I get on here and find another SK6ERS song that I haven't heard before! Is this song a little older? It kind of has a similar sound to the songs on the self titled album.

If I remember when this first was released people were not a fan....but I secretly loved it. I feel like it was around WAAAY before Glassjaw Boxer..like, we got it right after self-titled was released. I could be wrong, though. Probably am.

I kind of thought the same thing, like sometime around Fall '05? I think it was mp3 of the month, or something. I vaguely remember the story behind it, but not that accurately. However, considering how delayed GJB was and the year buildup for it, the years kind of blend together!

It is a pretty catchy song. I can understand how people may not like it as much as the other songs though. It's just a little on the short side, and it seems to be missing the lyrical depth and "personal" aspect usually found in SK's songs. I don't know, at least that's what it seems like to me. Still good though.

It seems to me that they recorded this song while still with Universal, and a different group in the UK or somewhere recorded it over there and it was pretty popular, so Universal had SK6 record it here, but it never was released commercially. I don't think this is a SK-penned song. Does anyone else remember this story? Maybe this story is for a different song all together.

Wait, I just remembered...that story goes with JCB, right? So, I'm of no help on the Money Isn't Love debate, but I've started a whole new problem of a random story that I remember about JCB. Nice, huh!

yeah Marissa, that was JCB.... from my recollection: it had been really popular overseas when Nizlopi recorded it, so the label had SK give it a go but the song didn't really translate to the American market.
    although I adore it!

Glad I could rehash some awesome older tunes. I also remember hearing it for the first time a few years back.

Haha JCB - bloody hard day!

rattles my bum like bezerk.....I LOVE JCB!!! When the banjo kicks in I always want to freak out. And I pretty much think SK's vocals win at life in JCB. Even though the song itself is a little...lacking.

And yes, that was JCB. I remember that story. The label made them record it. As for Money Isn't Love, I am now almost positive it was around self-titled time (2005) and was an mp3 of the month.

i think the reason i'm thinking it was is because it was between the self-titled and glassjaw boxer. it's been a few years. :P

now, what exactly IS a "JCB?" I thought y'all were using it as an abbreviation, but apparently not, ha ha....

JCB is a brand of industrial or excavating equipment (stuff like backhoes, dump trucks, and paving equipment) like Caterpillar. While it's a brand, apparently in the UK they use it to describe all kinds heavy machinery, kind of how we use Kleenex for facial tissue. We just don't see a lot of it in the US, as our market is more dominated by CAT.

In Indiana, I think 85% of the roads are under construction at all times. Needless to say, I've spent my fair share of time stuck behind paving equipment! :)

haha yeah there's always construction in the midwest.... I guess I never really paid attention to the actual construction stuff, though... too busy trying to figure out how to get around it!
