I want to be there so bad!! Why must it be on Wednesday? why,oh why?

"Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, you're only a day away!"
So excited for this...although not looking forward to the drive alone from Saint Paul. Oh well, you do what you gotta do to see the SK6ers

Ahhh yes, I've done that drive many times (well, Minneapolis) alone for the Sixers. It is actually one of my favorite drives. Once you get on 90 to La Crosse, the road is totally messed up (super bumpy) so watch out for that.
Have a good drive!Tooooonnnnight.

The drive wasn't that bad actually - it got really pretty in I-90 when I got close to Le Cressent/ La Crosse so that was a pleasant surprise.
so what did everyone think? Personally, I had a really bad spot in the crowd and was surrounded by horrible fans. I've never been so close to smacking someone (she dissed the SK6ers and deserved it) at a show. The SK6ers set was good as always...although I could have done without the obnoxious crowd.

aww Meliss this is what I was afraid of...but at least SK was good
Posted 3 years ago on April 10, 2008 LINK -
yeeeaaaaaahhh. That's pretty much how these shows are going to go. I thought the crowd was actually small last night. They sold out Madison (and I know a few others on the tour). Lots of people seemed to buy CDs and stuff last night, so that's......good?
~ JenPosted 3 years ago on April 10, 2008 LINK -
Yeah, I was really disappointed in the fans and how rude they were being with SK was on. It irritated me so bad. There was one person standing by me who was asking me questions about them and seemed pretty into them, so that was cool, but other than that, it was pretty awful.
I'm hoping, that since Hanson has never been to La Crosse before, and a lot of the people had never seen them before that it'll be just an isolated event, and at other shows people will be more into it.
There were loads of people in line waiting to talk to SK and Kyle (not sure where Kit or Boots was after the show) so that's good I suppose. Some people were at least interested.

how was the setlist?
-colleen-Posted 3 years ago on April 11, 2008 LINK -
I kind of expected the fans to be like that too, but I was trying to give them more credit before going there. Haha. But, it's always worth it to see the Sk6ers.
Setlist was pretty good...I noticed it was already posted:
Sweet Sophia
Maria
4th of July
Days
See you later, See you Soon
Uninspired Gambling
Bus Song
Start the Day Early
Big Easy
I enjoyed that they didn't play 13. I don't know if the crazies could have handled it. haha.Stephen was kind of irritated during the show so there wasn't much Kellogg banter. My favorite moment was when these girls held up a sign that said, "any plans later" that had their phone number on the bottom. Stephen saw it and flashed them his left hand (ring finger!) and just gave a little shrug and smile. Did anyone else catch that, because I found it hilarious!?

Wednesday night was my first time seeing SK (or even hearing of). I had a blast. I enjoyed them better than Hanson (not that Hanson was bad). I bought a CD and got to meet them. There was a little card i picked up that said they would be back in the fall. Do you think they will? Or maybe they are passed out at all concerts. I would love to see them again. I tried to find tickets to the Madison concert but no such luck.

Man, I'm disappointed in the Hanson fans. I kind of expected it, but still. That's hilarious about those girls.... way to show 'em, SK! I hope they continue to do the Trevor Jackson song, I want to see it in Michigan! =)

pa Halloween1997: welcome to the world of the Sixers. It's a fun place to be
& they probably will be back in the Wisconsin area soon (or Chicago)... those guys tour pretty much non-stop.
-colleen-Posted 3 years ago on April 11, 2008 LINK -
I'm hoping as the tour goes on the Hanson fans will get their act together and stop being annoying (I know it's stupid to hope) but once they really see what the Sixers are all about and how awesome they are that they shut the heck up and enjoy the show.

I bought the new CD at the concert. Anyone have any suggestions on the next one to buy? I'd like them all but I need to pace myself.
Thanks for any input.

I'd go in order and buy the self-titled album next.
Although, Bulletproof Heart is probably my favorite album.~Britt~Posted 3 years ago on April 11, 2008 LINK -
Welcome to the board Halloweenhead. I'm sure the SK6ers will be back - they are usually true to their word. I discovered them just a year ago and I've been to 4 shows now. So they get to the Midwest a couple times a year.
I'd also recommend the self-titled album if you want to learn the songs that you are most likely to hear at concerts. I bought the newest albums and worked backwards, so I'm still somewhat new to "South of Stephen" and it won me over instantly (not that I needed to be won over, but you get what I mean).

Melissa - props for the Ryan Adams typo! haha (Halloweenhead instead of Halloween1997).
Hopefully the Hanson-ites won't be too bad at the Indy show, I'm bringing a friend who hasn't seen the 6ers before with me.

I had some friends at the Milwaukee show tonight & I told them to cheer extra loud for the Sixers. She was also supposed to call me if they PLAYED Milwaukee, but since she doesn't know what song that is, it didn't happen. bummer.
As for album recommendations...it's true that the ones from the self-titled are the ones you're most likely to hear, but I agree with Britt - Bulletproof Heart is my fav of the "group" ones
-colleen-Posted 3 years ago on April 12, 2008 LINK -
haha, oops. I guess Ryan Adams was on my brain...
