The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter is out on August 21st.

i know! 'the animal years' is definitely going to be tough to beat!

i saw him last week at one of the special shows with violinist hillary hahn. it was AMAZING. really. it was so cool to hear her play with him and vice versa. other than that, i've only seen him play solo (when stephen was opening). i'm really excited to see him rock out with a band on the fall tour!

Fantastic fall tours everywhere!! I'm interested in seeing Josh with a full band, because I've only seen him play solo (with Stephen opening), too! I bet it is a lot different with a band. I really like "Live at Vicar Street" so I hope that the full band shows resemble that album!

He's great. Can't wait to hear the new album. If its anything like "Animal Years" (and the word is its better??) I know it'll be a great record.

Josh Ritter...love of my music life right now. I'm so psyched about Tuesday, and even more psyched that I have to drive for meetings on Thursday and can listen to it repeatidly! Can't wait for my Ritter and Sk6ers road trips in October and November!!

I haven't really heard much Ritter in the past... he sings "Am I singing you the riiight blues?", right?

Anyway, I suppose I'll pick up his historical conquests. Always looking for new music and I like his Little Ol Wine Drinker Me cover with SK

Yes, that's him. Another one of my faves from the new album You should check out 'The Animal Years' too because it's one of my top albums in the history of ever.

I can't wait to get it. I've been listening to "The Animal Years" all week to prepare! I'll have to buy another copy while I'm on vacation, since my other one is probably sitting on my doorstep, haha.

"The crickets all leapt up and met the moon with a standing ovation"- best line ever? maybe.

The Temptation of Adam is my other favorite. At first I was skeptical about the "best album of the year" comment. I still don't think it's better than "The Animal Years" but still, pretty damn amazing.

I really really really like the new album. I'm not sure which (Animal Years vs. Historical Conquests) I think is better at this point--it's a little early to tell for me. Both are fantastic!!
