Yep, I'll be there. I'm flying in at 9:30am, and flying out at 6:00am on Sunday to make it back for the Indy show. I'm not planning on dressing up, but I'm sure others will partake in the festivities if you guys want to go in costume.

Parking is free on the street after 6, and then there's a pay ramp and lots around Water Street too.
For dressing up, I know a lot of people did last year but there was a SK6ERS sponsored costume contest... I might this year but we'll see.

I can't wait for the show!

You all are making me rethink my stance on wearing a costume. I need to do some brainstorming, I guess! :D

Me too Marissa, thinking of one is harder than I thought!

Also, I was at Water Street last night to see Tyrone Wells - I found out that there'll be an instore performance at noon at Record Archive which isn't far from the venue. Just another little part to the Halloween extravaganza!

Arg. I'm so on the fence about this. I'll be seeing them the night before in Albany (where I live). I'd love to see the show, but I don't have anyone to go with, plus I've been trying to cut down on my concert travels. :) And I have another concert to go Sunday in Albany, Vertical Horizon, Yay.

But it sounds like it will be so much fun! :)

Do you think it will sell out or can I wait and make my decision? :)

Thanks for the 411 on the in-store. Good thing I got the earlier flight!
About selling out, it states on the website that The Club portion of the Water Street Music Hall holds 1010 standing room, including the balcony. Not that we have any idea how many tickets have been purchased, but I think that as long as you make a decision a few days before the show, you should be fine.

Thanks so much for the info Mary!! We were planning on going to the Albany show the night before but now that they will be doing an instore in Rochester I'm wondering if we should do that instead of Albany hmm! Albany is 5 hours from us and Rochester is only an hour. I think it would be hard to drive home the 5 hours and then be up and too Rochester for the instore at noon so we might have to pick one or the other :( anyone been to one of there instores before? How are they vs. the shows? I usually really enjoy instores. We do have front row for Albany as well so I'm sure either choice will be good but if we do decide to sit Albany out we'll have two 1st row tickets if anyone wants them! Anyway thanks so much for the info Mary!!

Ps: That's great there is a balcony at the club we will most likely go up there!

I'm not sure if the balcony will be open, usually you have to reserve it or have VIP access, etc.

And Diana, with tickets, it's looking like they MAY have moved to the main room since it no longer says The Club on Water Street's site. I'm not completely sure, but if that's the case I don't think you need to worry about it selling out... it holds even more than The Club side does!

Hmm I'm not sure Bethany what you should be even something easy like a hippie would be cute! We are just doing something simple like cat/devil ears! I would love to dress up more but costumes are so expensive!

you should be the bear. not a bear. the bear.

i recommend not going all out costume-wise though... and a silly mask might be the best way to go.

I'm struggling to find a great costume idea. Comfort is key, which means no John Mayer-esque full-blown bear costumes. Plus, I'm flying carry-on only, so that limits my space. I'm sure I will come up with something last minute, as usual! :)

print a picture of someones face, glue it on cardboard, and put a string on it and wear it as a mask. you can be that person. you could probably do this with stephen. "What are you?" "Oh I'm stephen kellogg."

i'm not going, but my costume is a comfort idea. i'm being where's waldo, lol. last year i did tom cruise circa risky business... that was also comfy... minus the white shoes of choice. But besides that, you got some shorts, a long white dress shirt, sunglasses, and socks.

There's a now a costume contest hosted by Water Street - $100 first place, and 2nd/3rd are concert tickets!
But I'm going comfort too as Harriet the Spy, one of my favorite childhood books/movies. All of it is things I have: sneakers, jeans, blue or red hoodie, just need a yellow raincoat and notebook and I'm all set!

ooh that harriet the spy idea is great!!

i'm going to a party tonight dressed as a cow - we have a group farm theme going on. but it has this huge head/mask thing that i will probably end up wearing for 5 minutes. so i definitely won't be wearing this to the show.

I think that I will go as a Sixer--jeans, vest, and chuck taylors but without the beard/chin scruff. It's comfy, and only you all will even know it is a costume! ;)
BTW, Harriet the Spy is absolutely fantastic!

haha, i suggested awhile ago that me and my two friends should be the sixers - a skunk, a goose... and a boot.

we passed on that idea, though... nobody would get it. maybe if we were attending the show???

Here are the performances from Saturday. The crowd in the back at Water Street was less than ideal during the regular set, but apparently was not there, or drunk yet during the "Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers."
