Does anyone else have really good feeling for this upcoming tour? I think that them touring with oar for the time that they did is really going to give them a hell of a boost coming into this tour...i just think theres going to be alot more people and especially w/ pete francis tagging along for some nights. Its going to be great can't wait!!!! Who feels the same?

I think your absolutely right. I remember last time they toured with OAR for an extended amount of time - the next time they toured solo (which was only a few months later) there were a TON more people there. I really hope they have an extrememly successful tour, they definitely deserve it.

I can barely wait for this tour to start. It's going to be so fantastic!

I can't agree more. strike while the iron is hot. i think it also helps that the 6ers and oar are such good friends, because i do feel that when the 6ers open, they are treated a little differently then other openers for oar, and they are def sometimes more involved with the actual oar show, especially with the collaboration on big easy, and awesome instances such as the SPAC scene a couple weeks ago with everybody on stage.
i think that def helps the exposure as people might realize that they are not just a filler to open up before the main act, and that the 6ers are great and they enjoy/respect their company enough to have them join them on stage. even though i would like to keep the guys a secret to avoid the teeny bopperness at the shows, i def love the exposure that they receive when they tour with oar. in closing, i am def more pumped for this tour than in recent memory.

Can I just say that two nights at The Paradise = paradise?
I actually love that the New England dates are spaced out across more than a month after that. Having the marathon multi-show weekend is nice, but it's like taking a big dose of sixer crack all at once and then having bad withdrawals. Little hits here and there do much better to keep me sane.

haha...yea this tour will definatly be something else. I do agree with the whole "keeping them a secret" deal but they really deserve the popularity even if its from people that "we" don't like. It will prolly become annoying but the music will still be there and they will be able to keep doing what they are doing and support themselves.

I'm really excited for the tour...I can't wait for it to start!
I'm looking forward to seeing Tyrone Wells too. I've heard good things about him and I always like good new music!

i cant wait!
november are you here yet?something dies when you grow older, but you do the best you canPosted 4 years ago on September 1, 2007 LINK -
I am sad that I will not get to see them in Rocktober, because Showvember is just not as fun to say.
Other than that... mad pumped. I'm going to a show outside of Philly for the first time, and possibly TWO in consecutive weekends. Anyone know if the George Mason show in Fairfax is Public?
- KimPosted 4 years ago on September 1, 2007 LINK -
George Mason is open to the public...COME! It's at my school and I'm in-charge!
~Britt~Posted 4 years ago on September 2, 2007 LINK -
Where is it, exactly? I can't find ANY info on the web. My best friend goes to UMCP which is apparently only 45 minutes away, so I am visiting him and we're going to go to the show.
- KimPosted 4 years ago on September 2, 2007 LINK -
yea, program board's website needs some crucial updating. We don't have a webmaster this semester, but should be getting one soon.
The show is in the atrium of the Johnson Center. It's really easy to find and there is a parking garage really close to it.
Be sure you find me and say hi at the show!

i'm super-pumped for this tour... not can i not WAIT to see the guys again, but the openers are fantastic as well. y'all need to check out tyrone wells and the alternate routes if you haven't yet already.
-amandaPosted 4 years ago on September 4, 2007 LINK -
I'm really excited for this tour too. Even though the free show today in Buffalo isn't really considered part of it, it'll still be so much fun. I can't wait to see Tyrone Wells, or seeing The Alternate Routes again. It's gonna be so great!
- MaryPosted 4 years ago on September 6, 2007 LINK -
glad to see someone else is familiar with the routes... i think they're a great match for the sixers and will gain a lot of new fans/listeners on this tour. they like to have fun on stage too, and as much i love their live show, the sixers are definitely the craziest on stage.

Does anyone, by any chance, live in Dallas? I'm going to a conference there that ends on November 3, which is the night the Sixers are playing the House of Blues. There are no flights late enough in the evening that I could stay for the show, and I can't drop $100+ for a hotel room. It seems such a shame to be in a far away state and so nearly miss a show...

i am SO ready for this tour. i haven't seen the guys since April - which is just NONSENSE!
i need to get my show count back up again. i've been slacking.
i'll defiitely be at both paradise shows, maybe Burlington, maybe Londonderry, definitely NYC and maybe the Northampton shows.
but it figures when i move back to RI, there's no providence show!
and the alternate routes are great!-elisePosted 4 years ago on September 10, 2007 LINK -
Elise,
Anytime you want to roadtrip to the New England-esque (or farther) shows let me know! I live in Boston now but can totally swing by to pick you up or meet up somewhere. I love going to shows with people who can sing and dance along. Although I've made a few believers of my friends along the way too.

soooo i'm not going to the chicago show anymore.
i'm heading to the UK instead. so i guess i wont see the boys until november. ohhhhh well
-LauraPosted 4 years ago on September 11, 2007 LINK -
the leg with the routes is gonna be like a little rock boat preview
i haven't seen the sixers or ar since june/july so i'm more than ready for november to get here already! i'm especially excited about st. louis because blueberry hill is an awesome venue and the routes had a kickass turnout there when they co-headlined with nathan angelo (another one of my favorites) a few months back.
-amandaPosted 4 years ago on September 12, 2007 LINK -
yes sara! let's plan a mini road trip!
-elisePosted 4 years ago on September 12, 2007 LINK -
Laura- That stinks, but is also awesome.
Posted 4 years ago on September 12, 2007 LINK -
Haha I know. Few people would understand that I had to THINK TWICE about missing a Sixers show to go abroad...but I did. Anyway, I think I made the right choice.
-LauraPosted 4 years ago on September 12, 2007 LINK -
what are you going abroad for exactly, if you don't mind me asking?
-amandaPosted 4 years ago on September 12, 2007 LINK -
for fun! i'm finishing up a job next week, and i had to put off my move to chicago until november...so my mom and i got a great last-minute flight deal to london and decided to just take off for most of october.
-LauraPosted 4 years ago on September 12, 2007 LINK -
Soooo jealous Laura. But that's really awesome. I understand the thinking twice, but I think any of us would take a trip to the UK (and still be able to see them right when you get back). I'm sure November will get here quick when you are in the UK for October.
HAVE FUN!
~ JenPosted 4 years ago on September 12, 2007 LINK -
I can't wait until the Sixers are doing international tours. That will solve all of our problems (except maybe the funding). Maybe Flight of the Conchords could open for them in New Zealand!
Posted 4 years ago on September 13, 2007 LINK -
i live about 30 minutes from dallas.
i do live with my aprents, so i'm not sure how that would work...
but as long as you're not a creeper we might be able to arrange something.
hhaha.something dies when you grow older, but you do the best you canPosted 4 years ago on September 13, 2007 LINK -
Thanks Sarah-
Unfortunately, I had to book my flight back the afternoon before the show. I'd love to hear if you have any tips for things to do in downtown Dallas though... esn at alum dot dartmouth dot org. I might try to take the rental car across state lines to OKC to the show on the 2nd; we'll see.Posted 4 years ago on September 14, 2007 LINK -
My tickets for the Paradise shows came on Friday. It's nice to have a tangible reminder that shows are just one short month away!
