so I'm a new fan. . .just recently saw the band opening for Hanson on the Walk tour in Allentown and Lancaster. Just curious as to how both Goose and Boots got their nicknames. Also, curious as to who the other gentleman on stage for both those shows was. Everyone else was introduced, except him :( Thanks!!

    Welcome aboard!

I'm not sure about how Goose got his nickname. But there's a video somewhere of Boots explaining that he used to take a lot of cat naps. Boots is a popular name for a cat, and so, that's what they started calling him.

I don't know who the guitarist was in Allentown or Lancaster, either. They're changing guitarist more than underwear. :P

another question: anyone else think boots looks like Sidney Crosby from the Pittsburgh Penguins? If I knew how to do it, I'd post a photo of Crosby. . .but the resemblance is there :)

    Welcome!
I saw the words Sidney Crosby and got really excited, hockey and SK6ERS are my two loves, hahah.
But I could see a little bit of a resemblance... though Boots can grow a much better beard than Sid the Kid can! :)

I think the video with Boots talking about that is the one from MSG last year. I kind of assumed Goose was a Top Gun reference, but I could easily be wrong.

Well, I always wondered if it was because of Kit's really long neck. Like in the video where they're comparing a short neck to a long one...haha. Just my 2 cents.

I never thought of TopGun. . .I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan, so I've never actually seen the entire film, so that's probably why it didn't come to mind.

And Mary. . .I'm so glad you're a hockey fan too!!! I asked Goose, Boots, and the other gentleman at the Allentown and Lancaster shows (Rich I believe his name is. . .that's at least what I made out from what he signed on my CD) and they all looked at me like I was a little crazy. None of them are hockey fans, so they didn't seem to care much. Just glad someone else sees it too! And Boots could totally kick Sid the Kid's ass in more than just a beard growing contest!

Richie Stein (along with Dave Chalfant) played at the New Years Eve Show in Vienna. It makes sense that he is back on select dates this tour.

Marissa has it right. The current guitarist is Rich Stein, formerly of the band Fighting Gravity, who played on The Rock Boat back in...2003, I think it was.
