I hate the Subterranean. How are they going from the Park West to that shithole? Can't we at least go back to Schuba's, please?

i'm in for austin for sure. probably san antonio, and possibly dallas. it just so happens that the dallas show is a weekend and i have several reasons to come home. no one needs to know that the most important is sixers...

Stephbro - I just bought two tickets to the Milwaukee show before looking at my calendar and I can't go. Any chance you'd want to buy 'em from me?

    Oh and hello board...

Last I heard, the fall tour was going to be just the three of them.

I don't like Subterranean, but I think they're trying to change the image and start bringing some "bigger" bands in. It's usually just really, really small and/or local bands. It's in Wicker Park, which is a good area, but tricky to park in. And it's at a confusing 6 way intersection. But there are lots of cool shops and bars around.

I was talking to Stephen at the Brookfield Zoo show and he was saying that since they wanted to do 2 shows back to back on a weekend, there weren't a whole lot of places to choose from. I've never been to Subterranean so I guess I'll have to reserve judgment for now...

I went there for the first time in June to see my friend's band play. Were you at the Beat Kitchen show? Or have you ever been there? It's similar, but a tad bit smaller and more long and narrow. The stage is also pretty small and it has the worst lighting I have ever seen in my life. It's bearable, but really disappointing coming from venues like Schuba's or the Park West.

I wasn't at the Beat Kitchen show (sadly I don't live in the Midwest anymore) but I have been there... & I agree - the long & narrow thing just doesn't work. Too hard to see. Schuba's is way better :)

So I somehow ended up with 5 of the tour booklets. I took two the first night, then was taking one the next night and when I was taking that one, Jess told me to take another one to give to someone who doesn't know who they are AND then when I was talking to Boots, someone handed me another one. I'm not complaining at all, though :) . Anyway, I was reading the "Story of SK6ERS" and they summed it up, why I love this band so much and why I am so grateful they are my favorite band... "We're here to break your hearts and then let you know that it's ok, we all have broken hearts." Amen.

This has been my favorite tour they have ever done. These last 5 shows I went to have been some of my favorites, and the most fun.

I thought I was going to die in the 6-way intersection, P.S. But I made it out ok. :)

Haha. I was okay walking with a friend, but once I had to walk across it on my own, I was a little...nervous, to say the least :-P .
