   Topic brought up in the SK6ERS forum, but I thought I should start a thread for it over here. I play scavenger hunts with a friend of mine using music, usually in the form of a mixtape. I think it would be cool if we did something like that between us relloggers. To avoid postage and stuff, we could just do it through zipped folders, e-mail, and/or AIM.

   It would be a cool way to introduce new, similarly-tasted music to ridiculously cool people while having fun at the same time.

   What I do is write out 12 requirements and the mixtape has to be arranged thusly.

   Ex:

   1. Has to be a song about music
   2. Has to be the 4th track from your favorite album ever
   3. Has to be a song that mentions a fictional character

   etc.

   For me, I'd put

   1. Leader of the Band // Dan Fogelburg
   2. Bird in a Cage // Old 97's
   3. Mothra vs. We Are Scientists // the We Are Scientists

   Get it?

   This could be fun. Anyone interested?

   How do you guys think it should work? I post a list for Neddi and then once he is don, he posts a new list for ewhite and it goes around like that? Or some other way?

   I want in too. Something to do before I have to start classes again next week.

   I like the idea of responding to one person's list and then posting a list for the next person. If we zipped and then posted with sendspace or the like, everyone could download them.

    4. A song that reminds you of your favorite place
    5. A song about a city other than NY, Chicago, or LA
    6. Your favorite non-English song
    7. A song by an artist that we've never heard of
    8. A song that you're embarrassed to admit you love
    9. The third song that comes up when you shuffle your music library
    10. A song whose fifth word is a verb

    I like the idea of zipping it and uploading it to sendspace so that everyone can DL it.

    Elizabeth, maybe we could do it on a call-out type of thing. Like, someone who wants to make one now, make a list for someone and get a list from them. That way, it doesn't have to be in order if more people are waiting.

    I'd love a list from anyone who feels like it, and I'll come up with one in return.

    Heh I think we're all a mess and confused.

    I guess it would make sense for Neddi to send me a list since I gave him his, and ewhite's list can go to maryyy and maryyy can make a list for ewhite.

    aren't you going to download all of them? i think that's a big part of the fun, listening to it and seeing how people interpreted their lists. posting the track list defeats the purpose a little, yeah?

    * This is a very rough recording of an amazing song... the artist "messing up" is the guitarist cracking up after the lead vox guy cracks a joke, and not being able to stop laughing. I think it's amusing because the guitarist does not stop his riff at all... if you can't understand the lyrics let me know and I'll type them up, 'cause they're worth it.

    And wow, lots of James Taylor already.
