So I've become obsessed with downloading live SK6ers stuff off of archive.org. Usually I just download songs I don't have already or haven't heard before. I really want to download a whole show. Any show in particular you all recommend?!? Thanks!!!

My first show is still my favorite: 4/17/04 at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. All the classic old tunes, and it's when Boots was still "Bfact" and Souce was "Cookie Dough." Todd Martin plays too. Best version of Days ever.
The show from this past spring at the 9:30 should be a good recent one. I haven't listened to the actual recording, but the show is pretty legendary.
If you like some more different stuff, check out "The Balls" set at The Paradise from 2005, and the show in Lawrence, KS when SK was too sick to come on stage. (Both on archive.)

Two shows that got me through the (delayed!) Denver to Indy flight today were 5/10/2002 and 9/27/2002. If you're into the older songs, I definitely recommend these!

Yes, Club Helsinki! I almost listed that too. Fun facts:
This was the debut of Satisfied Man, and the new version of Keep Me In Your Thoughts, if I remember correctly.
You can hear me cheering several times.
It was the smallest stage EVER. "We're really excited about the size and scope of the stage here. Are we clear everybody signed the waiver about the flames and smoke that are about to ensue? You might want to leave then, because your face might just get melted off." - SK.

just so you know, cookie dough is not chris soucy. it's a completely different guy! dave chalfant? i think his name was.
that show was definitely a good one and the paradise shows are always fun to listen to!

Yeah, Soucy didn't join until the Fall '04 tour.
I don't have all these shows you guys have mentioned. Time for a downloading spree!
I definitely recommend the Jammin Java one someone else mentioned. The quality is excellent.

If you are looking for something after a while with a different feel, my favorite instore is 10.05.05. "Sun" and "Diamond" make an apperance and it is all acoustic. I love it.

That is a really good one (10.5.05)! I always thought that Cookie Dough was Dennis Crommett, I don't know why I thought that, but that's who I always associated with that alias. Its good to know otherwise. The 10.7.2005 at Theatre of the Living Arts is another favorite.

Ohhhkay. I guess since Boots and Kit have gone through several nicknames, I though that was an early iteration. Did this other guy look a lot different than Souce? Cause my three-year-old mental image says no.

haha i guess he could easily pass for a Soucy imposter.
i might have a picture floating around somewhere...i'll have to look.

i'm gonna have to check that for sure... i'm a sucker for anything acoustic.

Thanks everyone! It's taken me a while to check the boards and I'm excited to have some shows to download that I know will rock!

I think cookie dough/Dave Chalfant is playing with them on the extra features of Bulletproof Heart (the concert they show songs from when you put it into your computer). He produced BH and Lucky 11, maybe others but I don't know off the top of my head. I think he did look like Soucy! Anyway, if you want to see what he looks like, you can see there (i think).

Nice illustration of the point! There are obvious differences (glasses), however, it's not like Dave was a 6'11" dude with a mullet and a handlebar mustache and I totally dropped the ball, right? I'm sure that I was blinded by my newfound Sixers fascination, and whatever they put in the vegan pizza at club passim.

Hey, if Dave ever had a hat on...I could totally see it.
P.S. This thread also makes me kinda sad thinking that when I see them in Octover Soucy won't be there.

Me too, but you can't beat Kyle as a stand-in.

i freaking love kyle. quite possibly the best thing to ever come out of canada.

Okay...I'm a self-proclaimed archive.org addict. I found it quite intimidating at first and have tried to help my friends through the process of learning it.
To attest to my true dorkiness I just created a document (complete with screenshots and arrows I should add) titled "How to Download and Play Songs from www.archive.org"
If any of you SK6ers fans are confused with the whole thing, shoot me an email and I'll send the guide your way (somewheresinginalong@hotmail.com)
I'll probably make a guide for converting files and burning the odd formatted files (i.e. flac) unto cds.
Wow...the things I do to avoid homework
