If you're looking for something to do on Friday night in the Boston area come out and see the Alternate Routes at the Paradise! They're opening for Matt Wertz, but in all honestly, (I saw them last night in Providence) this is completely a case where the opener was ten times better then the headliner.

Also, if you've got some free time and want to help the guys out go to www.wers.org and request the Future is New. You don't even need to call in, you can just fill out their online form! I'd really like to see their new album get some radio time!

I wish they were touring in the SE. But I can't wait for the new CD.

    The new album is AMAZING!
I wish I could travel up north to see them...ah! I have no doubt that they are better than Wertz...their live performance is awesome!

you might want to request "The Future's Nothing New" instead. :P
Sara just refers to it as the toolbox song. haha

i have seen AR & Wertz separately, and i agree that AR put on a great show. But the Wertz shows i have been to have been amazing. it's strange to me to think AR outshone Wertz... they are def. two different artists, that's for sure. AR have awesome energy, but Wertz has such a comforting quality. I wish i could see them together...

i saw wertz and ar together last month in ann arbor. i have been a huge fan of both (for different reasons) for years now, and it's always nice to see them play a show together. they're very different musically, but seeing them play together just makes sense.

I saw them with Wertz (& a surprise appearance by Jon McLaughlin!) last week... soooo good. they joked about forming a supergroup called "The Alternate Wertz" & had lots of jams onstage.... they played a really cool venue in Portland & the vibe was just really laid-back & chill... very fun. Tim was joking around with me about when I was going to get an Alternate Routes tattoo  maybe someday!

Saw them in Knoxville with GRO- they played an amaaaazing set, but I was bummed that there were probably only about 15 people at the most in the audience. It was a great show though and they're doing a "duet" set in Columbia, SC this Sunday so I'm hoping to check that out..hmmm.
