I'm sure this topic has been brought up before but I'm trying to make a Sixers mix. I'm trying to get a school organization to bring the Sixers to my campus and I'm just kind of unsure what to put on the mix/play for the comittee...
Any Help would be much appreciated.....

If I was making a Sixers mix, I guess I'd start with the concert standards that we typically hear at shows (ie: Thirteen, Days, Maria, Flower in Rain, etc...). The purpose of you making the CD is to give them a taste of what they could expect to see at the concert, so I would try to keep it pretty close to a typical setlist and toss in some of the new GJB tracks (Big Easy, Sweetest Goodbye, Spooning in Ron--oh, wait I mean Milwaukee, etc...). Just my two cents...

I agree...I'd put a live version of Days on there since I think that really shows how fun they are live even for people who don't know their songs, it's entertaining.

Yeah probably add some recorded tracks but put on the live versions of Maria, Anthem, 13 and Days for sure!! SYL,SYS is also another one that all my friends love whenever I play in the car and then they end up being fans

If you have a copy of the live DVD, and they're willing to watch as well as listen, I would definitely let them borrow it and watch a few of the tracks.

when we had sixers play @ my school may 06, we made a ton of little "sampler" cds (with permission) to hand out at the union desk so students could hear what they were all about...i dont remember what songs i put on because the playlist is on my old computer but i'm sure it was SYL,SYS, days...two more. but perhaps you can use that when you pitch the idea....a way to raise student awareness. and remember, there are probably several different organizations that could afford to pay for the sixers to play @ loyola. i was on the programming board in college and spent years trying to cajole my associates on the board to get sixers, to no avail. it was my boss at the student union who i managed to convince...she had TONS of funding to plan student union events, we put on a whole spring carnival thing. it was great.

I would definitely stick the self-titled "Anthem of Our Discovery" on there. I think that is a excellent general Sixers songs that really gives a good idea of what you can expect from their music. Plus its usually always played at a live show. I think everyone else has given great ideas as well.
Good luck!
